Melanie Lizotte
Melanie Lizotte, B.A. (Honours), M.Ed.
Melanie Lizotte is a member of the Metis Nation of Alberta and is the Manager of Indigenous Relations for Somerville where she manages all aspects of Somerville's operations nationally related to the implementation of Somerville's Indigenous Community Engagement Policy & Diversity and Inclusion Policy. Melanie has a Masters' Degree in Human Rights Policy Studies and Intercultural Education from the University of Alberta. Melanie has also trained for 3 years with internationally renown psychiatrist Dr. Bruce Perry in Trauma Responsive Education. She currently provides professional development sessions in Trauma Responsive Education to teachers, professors, and administrators in Indigenous communities. Melanie is also a CCAB certified Indigenous Cultural Awareness Trainer.
